We fell in love with Kilkea Castle. I remeber showing the website to Killian and his first reaction was WOW!!!!!!!!!
Kilkea Castle was built in 1180 and is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Ireland. The immediate builder and the first occupier was one Sir Walter de Riddlesford, a young knight who had accompanied the first invasion party of Anglo/Normans in 1170.
There are 36 rooms in Kilkea Castle and a multitude of B&B's in the area. Details of how to get to Kilkea and accomodation will be posted on this website in due course. If you require a special meal i.e vegetarian, please let us know in advance of the wedding.
